DMV Aggie to Keynote the 2025 Dr. Ronald E. McNair Symposium & Graduate Fair

One of our chapter members, Victoria Revelle, has been selected to provide the keynote at the Ronald McNair Symposium and Graduate Fair on Friday, January 24 at North Carolina A&T State University. In addition to providing opportunities for students around the country, this year's symposium will honor the legacy of Dr. Ronald McNair (a former American astronaut, Aggie, physicist and member of the Divine Nine). Ms. Revelle is a Ronald McNair Scholar, entrepreneur, author and a national award-winning public health practitioner, trained by our nation's 16th US Surgeon General. As a third generation Aggie and the descendent of a midwife, Ms. Revelle will speak on her research in black maternal health. Throughout her career, she co-established Howard University's second Black Maternal Health Week, keynoted by Congresswoman Alma Adams and provided infant mortality prevention, sickle cell and access to care workshops in the US, France, Spain and Italy. Ms. Revelle has demonstrated her commitment to this nation's health through deploying to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) COVID-19 Response, during the height of the pandemic, where she bolstered a cornucopia of teams (including one which answered White House requests). During her work with the CDC, Ms. Revelle also proudly co-implemented virtual recruitment designed to provide learning opportunities for 1,000 HBCU students and recent graduates. Ms. Revelle has directed minority health affairs, co-authored a national policy statement and implemented health equity strategies, sparking collective action in the national maternal healthcare crisis. Her public health leadership at the local, state and national levels has been celebrated, culminating in praise from Mayor Muriel Bowser, the Society for Public Health Education, the American Public Health Association and the United States Department of Health and Human Services. If you, a loved one or a student are interested in graduate school, please reach out to Ms. Revelle to learn more about the Ronald McNair Program.
